Contributions to simulation and control of power-electronic systems with focus on railway applications
- Power-electronic systems have already been playing an important role in industrial applications in recent years. Nevertheless, their influence is still growing and they are constantly expanding to higher power classes and increasingly complex structures. Inspite of this, no complete theory for simulation and control of these systems is available yet. This thesis develops stringent approaches to simulation and control design which take the influence of switchings on the eigenvalues into account. The development process and the quality of this control are improved notably - especially for low switching frequencies. So, high-power applications and energy-saving concepts profit. A traction-oriented high-power test bench was set up and used for the verification of the concepts. Excellent transient behaviour and high robustness of the newly developed control approach were proven. Accordingly, the railway-grid stability is increased, thus decreasing recent stability problems distinctly.
